Mr. Driller coming to DSiWare, tons of footage

WalMart ordering loads of Nintendo DSi systems

Back when the Wii launched, Walmart was prepared for the big storm and knew it would be a big hit. Now with the new Nintendo DSi we see the same phenomenon. Walmart’s chief merchant lets us know that they’ve ordered thousands of Nintendo DSi systems to give everyone the opportunity to get one on launch date.

“Walmart.com has made tens of thousands of Nintendo DSi units available for preorder, giving more customers the chance to enjoy one of the most sought-after handheld consoles in history. Customers continue to choose Walmart.com to find the best online selection and strongest values in video games, especially for popular releases like the Nintendo DSi.” - Kelly Thompson, Walmart.com’s chief merchant

CNET telling you not to buy DSi, they’re wrong

Our sitepoll shows that a lot of gamers are getting the new Nintendo DSi, but there’s also the group of critical gamers that say they don’t need a new Nintendo DSi. As a Nintendo DSi website we definitely don’t agree with that. CNET says you shouldn’t buy the DSi, but according to us the DSi is worth its money and should be considered as a complete new system.

Australian date and price for Nintendo DSi

On the one hand Aussie gamers are lucky because they’re getting the Nintendo DSi three days earlier than us, but on the other hand there’s the expensive Australian price tag of AU SRP $299.95 / NZ SRP $375.00 (NZ: price depends on exchange rate). Pictures Nintendo DSi in Matte Black and Matte Blue

As announced earlier today the new Nintendo DSi will launch in the US on April 5th for $170 in two colors: Matte Black and Matte Blue. We’re quite disappointed that Nintendo decided not to release the white one, but after seeing the pictures of both colors on Amazon we immediately knew why Nintendo wanted these two beautiful colors so badly. Nintendo DSi coming out in US April 5th for $170

Nintendo of America has announced that the new Nintenod DSi will launch in the US on April 5th, it will retail for $170. The European release date for the Nintendo DSi hasn’t been announced yet, here’s a couple of interesting quotes from Nintendo employees:

“Ever since the arrival of the first Game Boy, consumers worldwide have turned to Nintendo for their portable gaming,” said NoA sales boss Cammie Dunaway.

“Nintendo DSi builds on Nintendo’s commitment to bringing fun and creative entertainment to everyone, and will allow consumers to personalize and share their very own experiences.”
