Our sitepoll shows that a lot of gamers are getting the new Nintendo DSi, but there’s also the group of critical gamers that say they don’t need a new Nintendo DSi. As a Nintendo DSi website we definitely don’t agree with that. CNET says you shouldn’t buy the DSi, but according to us the DSi is worth its money and should be considered as a complete new system.

Why on earth would I waste my money on this? I see no gaming improvements worth spending the money AND losing my GBA slot. As for cameras and web browsing, I HARDLY need it for that. I’ll stick to bigger screens for internet and I’ll stick to my camera for pictures. What a waste this thing is.

I love everything they say about it, but no GBA spot… That just makes it not worth my time. My daughter (7) loves the camera idea, but she loves her guitar hero game more. I’ll have to pass on the DSi.

It looks nice, but I don’t really see anything that I want in it that would really encourage me to switch from DSL to DSi. Yes, I could see it for those without a DSL to begin with, but a lot of these extras are covered handily by other products.

not really you cant change the shape of someone or something when you are taking a picture and apple does not have some of the apps that the dsi has plus if you buy every seperate it will be like 400$ and the dsi is every thing put in one would you really take a camera ,mp3,and a lap top wherever you go and that would make people try to steal it

If I have the money, then I will buy, or wait for it to appear on ebay or someother auction site and pay less for it. And, being one to work with sound and music equipment alot, I would have to say that it (DSi) was a worth while investment. But, if you already have a digital camera and a digital sound recorder, then it might seem like a waste. But who in their right mind would want to haul a camera AND an expensive sound recorder around with them all day? That is why the DSi is a good investment. Kinda an all-in-one package deal.

I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want the DSi. Its like people that buy Pentium 4 computers when they can get a Dual Core computer for 40 bucks more. I like the improvements the DSi is reciveing and like how its competing more against the PSP from Sony. If you want to be the last on the bus thats fine. Take your time, but once this system gets out your going to have a hard time finding one unless your willing to pay BIG bucks. Btw, its not hard to re encode your music to the AAC so you can play it on the DSi without getting rid of your mp3 versions.

I want it. but only becuase my DS Lite is broken.I do not think it is a new system.It has a camera but I rather haul around a real camera.The sd card slot is not that cool.CNET is right.It is not worth losing your GBA slot.My brother loves his GBA slot.He would hate to lose it.I think it shoud be 100 dollars.because I am sure your parents do not want you to bring a camera around the world.I will miss my GBA slot

well, even though you lose the gba slot if you have an actual gameboy advance or sp you could just use that, unless you REALLY cant stand losing maybe a couple of games like guitar hero…but you get a camera, a sound player(JUST GET ITUNES TO CONVERT IT ALL TO ACC ITS THAT EASY lmao), SD Card slots, and all that other stuff. And what about people who don’t know how to do all the homebrew stuff or just can’t? If they have a DS Lite, they cant do shit the DSi can do unless they have homebrew. So your not losing much..but it depends on how you think of it, cuz everybody has their own opinions about it. But having a camera AND an sd slot means you can transfer your pictures to your computer, wii, or any other device that supports sd cards. So its pretty nice.

everyone is taking the camreas wrong its not just for pictures, it can also be used for games! ever seen the new wario ware? devolpers may make new ways to make use of the 2 camreas. and for all we know a homebrew devolper might make some kind of webcam if they can use the camreas. i mean they already figured how to use voip phone on it.. how hard can a webcam be? anyway i think the dsi will be sweet. i love nintendo

okay, I haven’t had a new hand held system since the game boy color was introduced.(I still play the pokemon and warioland games!!!) Should I go with the new DSi or the DS Lite? I have a digital camara already but I’m not really up-to-date on gaming. Which would be worth my money? I love my gameboy color, but some of the games for this hand-held look just as awsome! PLease give an honest opinion, I’m really confused as to which system to buy.

its not just about the camera. the dsi’s cpu can run twice as fast as the ds/dslite eventually most new games will be dsi only.. this is really a new console
i also hope at some point you’ll be able to buy all new games at there online shop… as it is they seem to be focusing just on small puzzle like games for downloads.

I don’t think it’s a waste. It is SUPER COOL. I know they have invented Cameras but these can fit in a pocket. Also you can Morph it. It’s the NEW THANG. DSi hands down is the best handheld on the market, anyone who says otherwise is either retarded or knows absoloutley JACK about games, whats not to like u can play games play music watch movies, take pictures, morph pictures, create soundtrack, edit sound and so much more, all these great features come in one small nice package for a resonable price. and what with all the whining about no GBA slot, is u have an old Ds or GBA then they aint no problem, and for those thinking about buying a DSL instead of a DSI are missing out on a barrage of impressive features. DSi has got the PSPs flat on its back, anyone with common sense would see that DSI is superior to all other handheld consoles on the market.

The Nintendo DSi is not “he best hand held on the market”, in fact gaming has deteriorated to flashy graphics, hi definition, innovated accessories that waste time from game time. Although a Camera is a nice addition to a gaming system, its surly not a reason to buy it. People its just another Wii, (not dissing Wii, I have one and I love it!) but its just another way to pull consumers such as your self’s into a gimmick to purchasing a new portable system because its the “NEWEST THING ON THEM MARKET”. If you already own a DSLite, the purchase is a waste of time and money. Although storing money isn’t the ideal way of thinking. Considering the recession at this point its better to spend money then to keep it. That is right people, “Stop saving money and start spending it!, its the only way out of the recession and the only way to keep from a depression.” Although spend wisely (don’t go out and buy stuff that really don’t need to be bought). The DSi in stat wise is a worse system. I’m not kidding here check it out.

I completely disagree with onslaught’s statement in each and every way.
Features are a waste of time for a gaming experience. Yeah its nice but did it add to your GAMING EXPERIENCE.
As an example: the XBOX 360 provides listening to music while playing games.
Personally I use the R4 for most of my gaming. (PS: go look it up)
And am looking into the AceKard2 i as a compensation for the R4 on a DSi (considering the DSi doesn’t play the the R4)
Thats just about it really.
If you have a DS (OLD SCHOOL)
Then its a good investment for what it is. Unless you love GBA games then please reconsider your options.

WTF the dsi is not a regular ds did u even buy it. yes it has cameras but it is not a ripoff. it has a wireless internet browser. u can play mini games with dsi points. u can change your music to acc files then listen to it on the go. when u start the dsi the screen is totally different. it kinda looks like a iphone, but a little different. did u do your research ??haha??. did u check the youtube videos, which shows the dsi and the features of it and actually showing whats in it, and the things u can do in it. DSi is awesome ok. i am gonna get one in my birthday, trust me ??haha?? do your research because i did mine i looked at many reviews of the dsi, i checked out youtube videos to see the features in a persons hand, i saw how many battery power it lasts, i learned how they changed the stuff around ok, i can say all this countless research i did about the dsi. it is worth your money. and all u guys who is posting comments who is discrediting the dsi DO YOUR RESEARCH. i find the wireless internet awesome. but i do agree with one person that having a laptop, mp3 player, digital camera, all in one, makes it possible to be stolen. now dsi has other features like settings, parental controls, dimness changing and much much more. but wait for about 6 months the dsi will be updated. but i am going to buy soon. ok one more time to get to the point DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE U SAY ANYTHIN

oh yeah i forgot the dsi is now competing with the psp. psp do not have a wireless internet, a dsi shop where u can buy mini games. it does not have a built in camera. heck all u need to buy is the dsi and then u set. with psp u have to buy many hardware to get to the features like wired internet hacking it and much more.

Trust me, you wont miss the GBA slot, I thought I would but I dont.
They made up for the GBA slot and added the DSi Shop. They will probally start adding GB and GBA games to it.

My cellphone takes better pictures, is a better MP3 player, better web-browser, note taker, instant-messaging client. And it came out 4+ years ago. My phone before that, that came out in 1999 took .5 megapixel 640×480 pictures. Which is better than the DS camera.

I still love and own my DSL but I’ve got PSP as well. I use my PSP for playing music, and movies and surfing the net. You know what I use my DS for? _playing games_ you know, those fun things you click buttons to make characters move around? They’re awesome. Stop ‘innovating’ and get translating some of the awesome games that are taking forever to come to US shores (Seriously, a year+ to translate Shining Force Feather and Phantasy Star Zero? What the hell Nintendo.)

HI THERE ONE MORE THING I FORGOT NINTENDO WILL HAVE A FIRM WARE UPGRADE APP FOR FACEBOOK AND YOUTUBE FANS AND YES NINTENDO NOW HAS A REAL HARD CORE GAME FOR THE WII WELL IF THEY SELL ENOUGH CONDUIT GAMES FOR THE WII MAY BE A DSI VERSION OF THE CONDUIT AND YES IS SOO HARD CORE IT GOT A T REATED GAME NOT E FOR EVERY ONE ITS KIND OF LIKE HALO FOR THE WII

Guys, the Nintendo DSi is awesome! You get to take pictures, listen to music, browse the internet, and so much more! And it’s no big deal about the GBA slot. You can just play your Game Boy Advanced games on your old DS Lite if you have one. This gaming system is so much better than PSP. I got it for my birthday, and trust me - it is AWESOME. My entire gaming life is on this thing.

The DSi Looks awesome but I ahve 2 DS lites And A ds original, But I only have dial up internet and a crappy computer so the other features are sadly useless but I still want one

I got like 5 DS lites in the past. Many of the DS lites are broken from crack screen from one time use, broken hinges, power fail, scratches screen, screen no longer touchable and buttons that does not work and all happened less than one month. I also have Gameboy color, Gameboy Advance which still in excellence working condition, but I never want to use these again. I do use the DS Lite GBA slot for my memory and I do have DS browers for DS lite for internet too. I just got the DSi and yes no GBA spot. I believed in the near future that you can buy the GBA spot that hook up with the DSi or DS lite so that you can play your games. I have no worry about it because I play GBA games on Gamecube anyway. It just too bad I could not play my GBA games on my Wii so I had to download GBA games from Wii shop. I have 3 Gamecube that I brought when it just released and 1 broken down for no appearance reason and it less than half a year. Let just see how long will my DSi will last. The material is different from the DS Lite, and if it good I will buy another DSi or newer DS etc. in the near future and that it when DSi drop the price. I like the SD slot from the DSi. I would be great if DSi have camcorder too or maybe will have camcorder in the near future just like the G1 phone.

You know what I like the Gameboy Advance SP better because it never fail me and never break down. It is good for children. The DS lite is more for adults or responsible young adult because they take good care of it. I have two Gameboy Advance SP, both different colors. It not a touch screen, or wifi as the DS lite or DSi, but it strong and last very long time.

I own a DSI and I returned it after a week.. Gaming is always going to be the same and it gets boring… If you are a fan of Sega Production games this might be for you.. I would reccomend DSI to kids ages 5 to 11.
The game if more kid interactive… The new camera will atract a bunch of kids but it is a very bad quality camera… It’s only for one person.. Not more than 1.. It is very fuzzy. Gaming gets boring like I said. Not too big of a difference from DS lite.I like the fact that is has a new matte feeling to it. and it has 2 pretty big screens wich I sorta like… The touch screen wont sometimes do what you are doing.. It does not do what its supposed to sometimes. The exterior of it look awful! It has a very boring rectangular prism shape with is not interactive… Internet browsing is very bad because it only has flash player 6. Wich means you cant watch videos. You can only do VERY LITTLE amount on the internet. Nintendo only makes kid interactive systems… They’re gaming graphics only changed A LITTLE BIT over the past years.. Once again if you are a fan of Sega games, this is for you. Although people in the age over 11 would not enjoy it very much, i’m only 14. Girls over 11 seems to enjoy it but others dont… I say an OK job by nintendo, keep adding new features to your systems and listen to your fans! They have alot of things they want on your next production.

Have Replaced 2 Dslites For 2 DSi `s For My Kids And Have To Say They Are Great With A Nice Bigger Screen,Sound Is Better Also And The Matt Finish Is Much Better For Kids No More Greasy Pores The Only Problem With These Is The Battery Life Is Shorter Than Ds Lite So Am Constantly Charging Them But Anybody That Has Any Doubts About These They Are Must And Hey Who Wants To Play Gameboy Advance Games Anyhow …People Just Let Go Of An Old System And Embrace The DS For The Great Games For That System
